Ziekenhuis Heilig Hart Lier is taking its sustainability efforts beyond healthcare. To meet climate goals and rising energy needs, the hospital has invested in solar panels and EV charging stations – thereby complying with energy regulations.
BESIX Power, in collaboration with its installation company Energieconcepten, installed a solar energy system tailored to the needs of a modern care environment. The system includes 412 solar panels across 650 m² of roof space, delivering 194 kWp through 2 SMA inverters with an East-West orientation. It powers the hospital’s buildings, technical systems, and electric vehicles, while 4 EV charging points support sustainable mobility for staff and visitors.
The installation was designed to ensure reliability, safety, and continuity. With 100% self-consumption, the hospital significantly reduces its carbon footprint and keeps energy costs under control.
