Beneparts-Remco invests in solar energy and smart charging in Turnhout

Truck and trailer parts specialist Beneparts-Remco invested in a 150 kWp solar installation with smart EV charging, achieving 65.5% self-consumption, cutting 811 tons of CO₂ over 20 years, and saving over €524,000 - fully aligned with Flemish energy regulations.

Context

With stricter energy regulations coming into effect in Flanders from April 2026, Beneparts-Remco took a proactive step toward sustainability. The automotive specialist chose a smart energy solution that combines solar panels with intelligent EV charging infrastructure – making its operations future-proof while reducing its environmental impact.

Project overview

Energieconcepten, BESIX Power’s installation company, designed and installed a complete solar system tailored to Beneparts-Remco’s needs. The setup powers offices, workshops, and charging stations with clean, renewable energy. The system includes 304 solar panels across 650 m² of roof space, delivering 150 kWp via a single SMA inverter. The installation also features four smart charging points and an East-West orientation for optimal energy capture.

Thanks to this investment, Beneparts-Remco benefits from lower energy costs, reduced CO₂ emissions, and full compliance with upcoming PV obligations. The company opted for direct investment, supported by a full feasibility study, grid injection request, AREI certification, and Fluvius inspection.

This project shows that sustainability and efficiency go hand in hand. With solar panels and smart charging, Beneparts-Remco is ready for the future.
