Planning Manager



Your role

  • Planning support for multiple small/medium projects or a single large/complex project.
  • Management and coordination of project planning teams, including all third-party planners (JV Partners, SCs, Design Teams, etc.), to meet all project planning requirements.
  • Identification of future staffing requirements.
  • Representation of the company in planning-related matters during client meetings.
  • Preparation and delivery of planning presentations to senior management and client teams.
  • Providing comprehensive planning support for Extension of Time negotiations with the Client.
  • Assuming a lead/support role (as needed) in preparing Baseline Programmes for new projects and Target/Recovery Programmes for large/complex projects.
  • Playing an active role in the further development and implementation of Company Planning Procedures.
  • Implementing and supporting the use of the Last Planner system on projects.
  • Regularly performing risk analysis (Monte Carlo) using Primavera software.
  • Ongoing support for existing planning teams, including coaching and mentoring of planning staff members.
  • Active support in developing Lean-based collaborative planning behaviours among multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Development of a Planning database.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Able to develop a WBS for a large/ complex project.
  • Proven success in Extension of Time (EoT) claims work using different delay analysis techniques and support.
  • Lean Planning/ Pull Planning.
  • Knowledge of Risk Management Preparation of resource & cost-loaded baseline programmes, recovery programmes, target programmes etc. for large/ complex projects.
  • Ability to lead discussions/ negotiations with Client and/ or third parties as a planning specialist.
  • Primavera - very good skills.
  • MS PowerPoint - very good.
  • Primavera Risk Analysis.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Your profile

  • Degree in Civil Engineering; A Post-graduate qualification relating to planning is a plus.
  • Minimum of 12 years in a Planning Manager/ Lead Planner role.
  • Experience in large stadium projects would be an advantage/ beneficial.
  • Broad construction experience across various sectors and a very good understanding of specific work types.
  • Middle East experience is highly preferred.
