People who sometimes attend business events or workshops in Brussels know how difficult accessing the city centre can be. City hotels often do not have enough space to easily accommodate meetings, workshops or training sessions for large groups. People often have to travel in overcrowded trams or buses, or lose valuable time in traffic jams to reach the city centre from the suburbs, or vice versa.

Our solution

BESIX provided a suitable solution to all these issues with the Courtyard Marriott Brussels: a 4-star hotel with all the necessary facilities to organise meetings, in Evere, the business hub of the Belgian capital. Brussels Airport, NATO Headquarters and the offices of many international companies such as Toyota, KPMG, Unisys and Carrefour are 5 minutes away. What’s more, the city’s sights and attractions are only a stone’s throw away.

BESIX was responsible for the design, financing, construction and maintenance of the business hotel. We partnered up with the Marriott Hotel Group for the property management.

Result and realisations

The hotel, with a total area of 12,260 m², comprises 8 floors, 191 rooms and an underground car park. In addition to enjoying the extensive business facilities, such as meeting rooms and ergonomic work spaces, guests can relax in the cocktail lounge, library, sauna, or  fitness centre. The hotel also has its own restaurant.

The hotel opened its doors in 2004. In 2015, we refurbished the rooms, within a record time of 49 days. In early 2017 we tackled the ground floor, giving the reception, lobby, restaurant and bar a whole new look.
