Hyperscale data centers in Wallonia
Project overview
BESIX successfully delivered two large-scale hyperscale data center facilities in the Walloon Region, contributing to the expansion of Europe’s digital infrastructure. The two data centers were completed as state-of-the-art buildings providing high-capacity, resilient environments for mission‑critical operations.
Both projects were executed on accelerated schedules and required meticulous coordination, significant manpower mobilisation and strict adherence to health, safety and quality standards. BESIX leveraged its extensive experience in data center construction in Belgium and internationally to deliver reliable, efficient and future‑ready infrastructure.
Scope of works
For the first data center, BESIX executed the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract for the Core & Shell works. The scope included foundations, structural works, the complete architectural envelope and the external works. The multi‑storey building integrates several functional zones and is supported by extensive external infrastructure.
For the second data center, BESIX delivered the Core & Shell construction in partnership with Jan De Nul. The works comprised large‑scale civil construction of data hall, facility service area and several technical ancillaries service structures enabling the facility to support high‑capacity digital operations.
