KevlinX Tier III Data Centre (BRU1)
Project overview
BESIX, in partnership with Equans, was selected by KevlinX to design and construct a turn-key 40 MVA facility in Neder-Over-Heembeek, near Brussels. This centre is designed for large enterprises, governments, and cloud providers, offering secure, flexible colocation and wholesale space that meets the highest standards for reliability and sustainability.
BESIX’s reputation as a trusted partner for complex data centre projects is built on years of international experience and a commitment to quality. This combined with an Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) approach ensured close collaboration, effective risk management and efficient delivery. The facility meets Tier III Uptime Institute standards, with redundant systems and robust planning to guarantee reliable, uninterrupted operations.
The data centre was successfully handed over in December 2025, just over 19 months after the start of construction.
Scope of works
Full design and construction, including decontamination, of the site civil, structural and architectural elements by BESIX
Design and installation of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems by Equans
Strict adherence to Tier III Uptime Institute standards, ensuring high reliability and operational resilience
Integration of advanced solutions for cooling, fire safety, acoustics, and security
