Queensland Country Bank Stadium

Watpac was Managing Contractor for the $300 million project and prioritised local subcontractors and suppliers, and Indigenous employment. In terms of Indigenous employment, the company was set a target of 6% and achieved nearly 12%. Construction also involved 488 local businesses in the supply chain.

Townsville’s new Queensland Country Bank Stadium has scored a hat trick for  BESIX Watpac at the 2020 Master Builders Queensland construction awards for North Queensland. The new stadium secured the company the prestigious Project of the Year award, Best Sporting Facilities award, and Excellence in Workplace Health & Safety.
