BESIX Infra and BESIX Unitec inaugurate new headquarters, thanks to BESIX Group’s integrated service model

BESIX Infra, BESIX Infra Support and BESIX Unitec announce the opening of their new shared headquarters in Schelle, the culmination of a comprehensive redevelopment that began in 2021. The project is a clear demonstration of the Group’s collaborative strength.

A campus for 500 colleagues

The campus was fully renewed while remaining operational throughout the works. The existing office building was vertically expanded with three additional floors, adding 2,600 m², realised through an exoskeleton rooftop extension. The project also delivered a new 4,050 m² workshop serving the Equipment Department, Warehouse, Automation Workshop and Signalling Department, together with dedicated office space for these teams in a connecting building. The former BESIX Infra office was demolished, two staff car parks were created, and the inner courtyard was completely renewed and reconfigured to optimise outdoor material storage.

The renewed headquarters now houses all three companies under one roof, bringing together 500 employees and technicians and strengthening natural synergies and knowledge-sharing. Former location in Zwijndrecht has been closed.

This headquarters is built for tomorrow’s operations. It brings our teams and various capabilities together on a single site, so we can deliver faster, safer and more sustainably.

Delivered by the in-house capabilities

The redevelopment was executed through BESIX Group’s integrated service model, aligning specialist expertise from across the Group. Vanhout acted as main contractor; Franki Foundations executed the foundations; BESIX Infra delivered the sewerage and external works; BESIX Unitec installed the charging stations and control panels. HBS provided the woodwork finishing, while Flamant led the interior design. BESIX Power delivered the rooftop photovoltaic system, generating 360 MWh annually, with Energyconcepten installing the solar panels. This coordinated approach underscores the Group’s capacity to plan, build and equip complex live sites efficiently and safely through close internal collaboration.

A greener, future-ready site

The new headquarters also embodies BESIX’s commitment to practical sustainability and future-ready operations. The site features 833 rooftop solar panels and a rainwater capture and reuse system with a capacity of 40,000 litres. In addition, 20% of the site has been depaved and replaced with increased green space across the campus, and the electric-vehicle charging infrastructure, serving more than 200 vehicles, is powered by on-site solar.

Client and employee events have been organised to celebrate the inauguration.

In Schelle we have created a high-performing base for our people and our clients. It shows what our teams can achieve when our Group’s expertise works as one.
