Project overview
Terminal 2E formed part of the successive extensions undertaken by Aéroports de Paris to increase capacity and enhance passenger services at Charles de Gaulle Airport. Between 1999 and 2003, BESIX played a key role in the project, delivering the civil engineering and structural works for the terminal’s central building, as well as the complete construction of the adjacent car park.
Scope of works
BESIX carried out the civil engineering and structural works for Terminal 2E’s central building, which covered an area of approximately 450 metres by 70 metres. The facility accommodated international departure and arrival halls, check-in areas, baggage reclaim facilities, shops, restaurants, storage areas, technical rooms and staff facilities.
In addition, BESIX constructed the airport’s car park, comprising three underground levels, an esplanade and a helical access ramp. The company delivered the civil engineering works, structural works, finishes and technical installations for the concrete structure, which provided capacity for approximately 6,000 vehicles.
