Project Bailly-Romainvilliers, France

Deloitte University EMEA

An ambitious project, just steps away from Paris

Sector: Buildings

On behalf of Nexity, France’s leading real estate group, BESIX is building the Deloitte University EMEA, to the East of Paris. This is an ambitious project in terms of energy performances and biodiversity, and it has been designed to obtain five top-class environmental certifications, among others the “Biodiversity Excellent” and “BREEAM Excellent” validation.

Type of project

BESIX and its partner Dalkia Smart Building are building Deloitte’s new training center in Bailly-Romainvilliers, situated to the West of Paris. It is meant to become a university center for Deloitte’s staff, active in Europe, in Africa and in the Middle East. Deloitte is an audit and consulting firm.

Designed by the DUBUISSON Architecture agency, the buildings will cover an area of 22,OOO m², surrounded by green spaces and by a man-made lake with a total surface of 135,000 m². The main building will include a big multifunctional room, 43 classrooms, 12 meeting rooms, a restaurant and 265 bedrooms.

BESIX is in charge of all construction works, which include earthworks, the structural and finishing works, civil engineering and foundation works. The construction works started in 2020 and will be finished by 2022, within a challenging period of 20 months only.

This project allows us to show our execution capacities, from the foundations to the finishing touches, in a short amount of time, 20 months preceded by three months of preparation in this case. After several proposals respecting the architecture and searching for alternatives, BESIX has shown its ability to meet its client’s high requirements, both on the technical side as on the environmental one.

The Deloitte University EMEA will be a reference building regarding the environment, by meeting the most demanding certifications and norms in this field. We have developed leading-edge solutions with our client Nexity and our partner Dalkia Smart Building so that the project fulfils Deloitte’s expectations.

Carbon footprint & green spaces

The building has been designed as to obtain five first-class certifications: BREEAM Excellent, Energie+ Carbone-, Biodiversity Excellent, Well Building Institute Gold and Cradle to Cradle. The building will be powered to more than 40% by local green energy, provided by 1,100 m² solar panels.

Additionally, BESIX will take care of the landscape of the site, the gardens and the development of a wooded parc. These will host a wide variety of local water and land plants. Once operational, this area won’t require external water supply, nor drilling operations as it will be fed by rainwater.
