The last missing link in Belgium’s HST network
In the center of Mechelen, BESIX has built a total of 15 structures, including two bridges under the existing train lines, a tunnel under the canal ‘Leuvense Vaart’ and a number of complex railway bridges. The station was also completely renovated and the surrounding area enlarged to ensure the free flow of traffic. The project was the last missing link in Belgium's HST (high speed train) network.
