BESIX’s story in the United Arab Emirates began in the 1960s, with early infrastructure works along the Abu Dhabi Corniche. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, BESIX expanded its activities and built for example the Baynunah Tower, one of the tallest buildings in the Arabian Gulf at the time. More than sixty years later, that same pioneering spirit continues to drive some of the region’s most ambitious developments, many of them delivered through forward-thinking public-private partnerships (PPPs).
