Spanning 20,000 m², this prestigious project commissioned by Aerospacelab and Sambrinvest, will strengthen Europe’s space manufacturing capabilities and position Belgium at the forefront of the global aerospace industry.
The Megafactory is a landmark industrial development combining architectural ambition with cutting-edge technology. Designed in a distinctive ovoid shape, the building integrates clean rooms, technical zones, and office spaces within a hybrid concrete-and-steel structure. Sustainability is central, with geothermal and solar energy powering operations. By 2026, this facility will deliver satellites that will redefine Europe’s role in space innovation.
The BESIX-Galère joint venture is responsible for delivering the entire construction package of the Aerospacelab Megafactory. This includes deep foundations, structural works, façades, and high-quality finishing. Beyond the core build, the team oversees eight specialised technical lots, ensuring flawless integration of advanced systems essential for satellite assembly and testing. From complex reinforcement for heavy equipment to precision-driven clean rooms, every element is executed to meet the stringent standards of aerospace manufacturing.
