At Adelaide Airport, BESIX Watpac has supported the development of airport infrastructure for more than fifteen years. The latest terminal expansion and refurbishment project significantly increased capacity while maintaining uninterrupted airport operations throughout construction.
The project involved the extensive modernisation and expansion of key passenger and operational areas across both public and restricted zones of the airport. Works included upgrades to retail spaces, baggage reclaim facilities, international arrivals areas, border control facilities, lounges and technical installations. To minimise disruption to passengers and flight schedules, the project was delivered through a highly structured phased approach, supported by detailed segregation plans and continuous coordination with the airport operator and all stakeholders. This flexible methodology enabled construction activities to be adapted continuously within a live operating environment.
