Project overview
The Abu Dhabi Investment Office and Khalifa University have awarded a 23‑year PPP concession to a consortium led by BESIX Group, Plenary Group and Mazrui International. The partners will design, build, finance and maintain new student accommodation on the Main Campus and Sas Al Nakhl Campus, totalling 3,260 rooms and shared amenities. Delivered under the KUnnected Living brand, it stands as the largest student housing development in the Gulf region under a PPP model.
Scope of works
As a leading consortium partner, BESIX contributes to comprehensive project leadership and integration. The company oversees management, design and project coordination to ensure world‑class standards across both sites. BESIX also acts as the main equity investor and long‑term facilities management provider, securing operational reliability and student satisfaction beyond delivery. The project benefits from strong local integration, drawing on the UAE’s supply chain and supporting national manufacturers and suppliers throughout execution.
