Appointed by the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK), the BESIX–Plenary consortium delivered in 2024 three state-of-the-art school campuses in Zayed City. The project provides capacity for 5,360 students and reflects Abu Dhabi’s commitment to innovative procurement models and long-term value creation in social infrastructure.
The project was delivered under a comprehensive PPP model, encompassing financing, design, procurement, construction and commissioning, followed by a 20-year period of operations and maintenance. The schools offers modern learning environments equipped with advanced facilities. Sustainability was embedded throughout the project, with campuses designed to achieve Estidama Pearl 2 certification, prioritising energy efficiency and locally sourced materials.
This PPP also enabled the Khalifa City Schools project through a PPP augmentation framework.
