Terraced Tower

BESIX continues to build the skyline of Rotterdam

After the Montevideo tower (158m), the New Orleans tower (152 m) and the Maas tower (165 m), BESIX Nederland continues to build the skyline of Rotterdam with the ‘Terraced Tower’, a residential tower of 100 meters high alongside the river Maas. It will house different types of urban apartments, of which 258 rental and 86 purchase units. The tower derives its name from the unit-wide terraces, which will boast spectacular views of the city and the river Maas.

A complex residential building

As a first step, the old office building that stands at the site today will be demolished. In the meantime, the BESIX in-house engineering team and its advisors will rework the design into a realisation plan. The tower requires a complex cofferdam and complicated foundations and will be built partly into the dike body. Construction works should start at the beginning of 2018 to be finished mid-2020.

We are proud to be contributing to the skyline of Rotterdam – a city renowned for its pioneering architecture - with this remarkable building. At the moment, there are quite a few ongoing high-rise initiatives in Rotterdam, to which BESIX can bring added value as a high-rise specialist.
